SVDF - Organisation Profile

The Spring Village Development Foundation (Benevolent Society) is a Community Based Umbrella Organization ( A registered Charitable organization - 2017) comprised of representatives from schools, church, community and sports clubs, individuals and other stakeholders in the district of Spring Village, Bushy Park, St. Catherine, Jamaica.

 

The organization is the 2010 recipient of the Michael Manley Award for Community Self Reliance, the 2011 recipient of the Digicel/SDC Best Community Youth Programme Award both at the National and Parish levels. In April 2012 we received endorsement from the Governor General of Jamaica Sir. Patrick Allen as the model CBO for all communities in Jamaica to emulate and is featured as the flag bearer district in Bushy Park Community’s copping the Best Community Parish Award 2012.

 

The SVDF marks its 25th anniversary in 2022. The organization was established with the mandate to empower the residents of Spring Village and adjacent communities to achieve self-reliance in order to improve their educational, physical, spiritual, social, economic and environmental wellbeing.
